When we hear music is haram, mixing of genders is a serious problem, Hijab isnt just the wearing a headscarf its actually dressing modestly and includes covering the face, fake eyelashes are not allowed and so on, we go like why is everything haram in Islam, why are they so many restrictions? We have to leave everything to be pious?
But the sad truth is that it’s us who have been living the wrong way,
It’s us who have neglected the Quran,
It’s us who have never bothered to learn the way of our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم,
It’s us who have always thought following everything other than the Sunnah was cooler
It’s us who have adapted the wrong way and was blinded from the truth and thus everything which was against the Quran and Sunnah seemed perfectly normal to us and now when we get to know the teachings of Islam we think negatively.
If we think for a second, everything that Allah سبحانه و تعالى has commanded us to do or prohibited from doing is for a reason and our own betterment, He the One who has created us, knows whats better than us and even if we don’t understand a reason behind a command, we are not suppose to question it instead obey it because a Muslim is the one who submits to the will of His Lord.
Read the Quran and see how Allah سبحانه و تعالى has perfectly given out rulings to deal with our daily life problems, how He سبحان تعالى is warning us from the torment ahead, how He سبحان تعالى is calling us to His Paradise, how He سبحانه و تعالى comforts us, how He سبحانه و تعالى guides us in every small step and see His love for us.
Understand this beautiful religion.
Follow it with pride.
Prefer its teaching over the worldwide trends.
It’s the only way to attain Allah’s Pleasure.
It’s the perfect peaceful religion for mankind to be followed for a harmonious life.
Be proud to be a Muslim.
Abeer Nouman.
So true, Jazak Allahu khayran for sharing this perspective, it’s a great reminder Ma Shaa Allah ! 😊

I don’t believe that covering the face is Fard, but I do believe that this is something that we all, myself especially, need to work on: putting Islam before our own and societal desires. It is hard for me, but I try.

So true! We do think more about what we don’t like to do and less about the fact that it’s Allah who’s thought it up. That’s it’s Him we have to answer back to. Great reminder. I did actually feel it since I was in a dark place myself 🙂

Barak’Allah feeki sister,
Very well written reminder!
It is such a sad thing to see that we blame the Quran for being too strict whereas it’s totally our fault if we adapt to a society where every haram thing is normal. WE must change our mentality insha’Allah and we must see that we don’t need to adapt to “modern society”, since islam is very complete and must embrace every part of our life. As you beautifully said, it is only by following the Quran and the Sunna that we can find peace and happiness alhamdoulillah.
May Allah bless you sister.
