The Rights of Quran on Us.

1. To believe on it and everything it speaks about.

Allah swt says:

(O you who have believed, believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray.) [4:136]

2. Reciting it with Tajweed.

Allah swt says: ( ورتل القرءان ترتيلاً )

( And recite the Qur’an with measured recitation.) [73:4]

The Prophet PBUH: “Read the Qur’an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection.”
[Muslim].

3. To act on its teaching.

Allah swt says: ( وهذا كتاب أنزلناه مبارك فاتبعوه واتقوا لعلكم ترحمون )

(And this [Qur’an] is a Book We have revealed [which is] blessed, so follow it and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.) [6:155]

4. Gain its knowledge and teach it.

The Messenger of Allah (swt) said, “The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.”

[Al-Bukhari].

5. Reflect and ponder on it.

Allah swt says: ( أفلا يتدبرون القرءان )

(Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’an ) [47:21]

6. To remain silent while its been recited.

Allah swt says:  (وَإِذَا قُرِئَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَأَنصِتُوا لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ﴿

So when the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy. [7:204]

7. Adab of the Qur’an.

*The Qur’an should be read only in the state of purity, if you are in a state of major impurity, you cannot read/touch untill you take a complete bath.
* It shouldn’t be carelessly handled, and if a person is handling it or giving it to some person, he should do so with his right hand.
* It should be taken care of it and safeguarded  from getting torn, and if it tears, it should not be thrown instead it should be burnt  and buried  in a clean and safe ground.
* Nothing should be  written on it without any proper reason to do so.
* Nothing should be placed on top of the Quran.

All this due to the importance of the book and respect to the book of Allah.

Was that supposed to be a secret?!

01-its-a-secret

Many a times, a friend trusts us with something, and forgets to add in the end the famous line when they share secrets “Shhh..promise me you won’t tell this to any one.” “Promise.”

Or there are even times, when she tells you something and walks away. Now, you go tell that to someone (and we know how news spread like wild-fire!), the next day, the whole place is buzzing with the news and she confronts you regarding that.

“But you did not tell me that was a secret!”  Continue reading

The Blessed Marriage

Want a blessed marriage?

Follow the Sunnah!

The Prophet PBUH said: (The most blessed nikah is the one with the least expenses.)

Marriage is a blessed religious occasion in which we ask Allah to bless us and put barakah in our lives ahead but how do we expect a happy blessed married life when the start of it by disobeying Allah swt?

Some of the most common sins which are overlooked and regarded as traditions in a marriage ceremony which should be abandoned are:

 1. Mixing of men and women.

 2. Dancing and singing.

 3. Extravagance ( too much spending on the wedding dress, venue, dinner etc)

4. Bride applying fake nails, eyelashes or extensions. ( As the Prophet PBUH has cursed the women who does so)

 4. Women wearing tight, revealing clothes.

 5. Taking pictures. ( Having a male photographer taking the pictures of the bride and other women is a serious issue which needs to be addressed!)

 6. Following non- Muslims traditions ( which includes Mehendi, Mayoon, Dholki Baarat etc)

AN.

Its revelation moved the clouds and calmed the oceans.

This concerns no other revelation but that of Basmalah commonly pronounced as

basmalah

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Indeed it is one of the names of Allah that is closest to His greater names just like the blackness and whiteness of an eye. Any work that  begins without Basmalah is imperfect and devoid of barakah(blessing).

Jabir رضي الله عنه is reported to have said that when  بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم was revealed, Continue reading
