The journey of a lifetime

From South Asia, from Africa, from the east and the’s the season.

When people from different walks of life, from every nook and corner of the world, of different races and ethnicity, black, white, red, brown…come for the same purpose.

Their hearts and limbs are pulled towards one purpose ,same actions, same places.

No tall buildings or huts, from kings to paupers, they all stay in similar humble tents, under the same sun, or walk on rocks or climb valleys..

Following the footsteps of the man who ruled lands, but slept on mats which left a mark on his face when he woke up.
Following the footsteps of the man who was rich, but yet chose a humble life helping around the house and washing his clothes.

He is Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Answering to the call of Ibrahim عليه السلام that he made centuries ago

{وَأَذِّنْ فِي النَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًا وَعَلَىٰ كُلِّ ضَامِرٍ يَأْتِينَ مِنْ كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٍ}

{And proclaim to the people the Hajj [pilgrimage]; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass -}

No expensive clothes or belts or watches, in their uniform of white, a two peice cloth, crying in unison

“Here I am oh Lord, here I am”

Hajj – a journey of a lifetime, a journey of the heart, mind and body.

When Hajj is done sincerely for the sake of Allah, in accordance with what the Prophet Muhammad did, using means that are halal, abstaining from all kinds of sins, those are the characteristics of a Hajj which will be accepted by Allah.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “(The performance of) ‘Umrah is an expiation for the sins committed between it and the previous ‘Umrah; and the reward of Hajj Mabrur (i.e., one accepted) is nothing but Jannah.”

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Hajj is a proof of Tawheed, it is a proof of the purpose of our existance in this world, it is also a glimpse of the standing in front of Allah on the day of judgement.

Millions around the world come for Hajj, seeking the pleasure of Allah, and His acceptance of their deeds and seeking His forgiveness.

On the day of Arafah, when people stand on the valley of Arafah, begging Him for His forgiveness, asking from His bounties, Allah praises the people standing in Arafah, and boasts about them to the angels..

It is Hajj, a journey of a lifetime.

So those of you who have been invited by the Almighty, make sure you know what you are doing and do it properly with sincerity, learn its rulings, and the correct way in accordance to the Sunnah, clear your money from all debts, and hearts from all malice and hatred.

May Allah allow each one of us to perform an accepted Hajj before we pass away. Ameen
