Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When Allah created the Creation, He wrote in His Book–and He wrote (that) about Himself, and it is placed with Him on the Throne–‘Verily My Mercy overcomes My Anger.'”
(Sahih Al-Bukhari)

When you see a mother showing affection to her child that is from His mercy.

When you see an animal showing kindness to one another, that is from His mercy.

When you see people loving each other and showing kindness to each other, that is from the mercy of Allah.

When you have sinned, and yet He enables you to walk and talk and live another day, that is from His mercy.

When you have sinned and yet, He gives you what you ask for, He is doing out of His mercy.

When you have sinned and you realise that you have erred, the realisation is a mercy from Allah, and when you repent, the ability to repent is from His infinite mercy.

Salman reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

Verily, Allah created, on the same very day when He created the heavens and the earth, one hundred parts of mercy. Every part of mercy is coextensive with the space between the heavens. and the earth and He out of this mercy endowed one part to the earth and it is because of this that the mother shows affection to her child and even the beasts and birds show kindness to one another and when there would be the Day of Resurrection, Allah would make full (use of Mercy).
(Sahih Muslim)
{وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي رَحِيمٌ وَدُودٌ}
رحيم – the one who is merciful.
ودود – the one who loves His slaves.
In this verse Allah asks us to seek forgiveness from Him and repent to Him when we have sinned, and ends the verse by saying He is the most merciful and loving towards His slaves.
With His mercy, He forgives.
It does not end there, He will also love you.
Reflect on that, when we have wronged each other, we might forgive the other person, but will the love be the same? Will it increase or decrease?
But Allah سبحانه وتعالى His love for His slaves only increases. He will love you more, when you get back to Him in repentance.

Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” (Surah Az-Zumar: 53)

In this month of mercy and forgiveness, ask Him to have mercy on us and forgive us for our shortcomings, and to enter us and our loved ones to Jannah and save us from the torment of the hell-fire.
