When our goals met, so did our hearts.
‘When love is for the sake of Allah, it never dies, continues till Jannah.’
We started as classmates, we just knew each other by names, a smile, a Salam and how are yous. That’s how it used to be.
Almost a year and half passed, we were still the same.
But when our goals met, so did our hearts.
March 2014. When the five of us had to go through the same thing together, we had to go through a phase which we were forced to, we had to go through it to reach the beginning of our actual journey, towards our goal.
It was Ramadan, the summer of ’14, the faculty cafeteria, first floor, where it bloomed. We met every morning, discussed Ramadan, listened to the many Taraweeh stories each one had to tell, home works, tests and group projects. One of my friends stayed over at my house for almost 3 weeks, nothing could have been better.
Fast forward 12th August 2014, when we finished that difficult phase and wanted to celebrate, the five of us jammed in a small taxi, to one of our houses. The awesome lunch, playing scooby, the hairdo sessions and the fun, the plan after that to go to an entertainment Park and party hard. And we did, till our bones broke and our bodies couldn’t take it anymore.
A month later, we meet again, this time with renewed energies, enthusiasm, and a new dash to our friendship. One of us had to take an year off, but when we meet now after she has resumed, we are bound by our struggle and journey and tears and laughter.
Although we don’t meet as much or exchange stories as much as we used to before, when we meet, we talk as if we continue where we left off yesterday.
Two years since we boarded the ship, and still sailing, our journey towards our goal is on till we meet our Lord, In sh’Allah.
May Allah bless our friendship, bless each one of us, save us from any harm, and gather us under His shade when there is no shade except His and grant us the companionship of His Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and his companions رضوان الله عليهم.
